Ahead of the 59th Academy of County Music Awards in Frisco, country star Parker McCollum is set to headline ACM’s Lifting Lives fundraising concert. The fundraising event of ACM Awards Week, will take place on the golfing green at Topgolf The Colony on May 15, ahead of the 59th ACM Awards the following evening.
Here's a Q&A with Parker McCollum:
How was performing in Texas different than other places?
Man, it's just home you know? This is where we grinded in our early years, this is where we came up. You know the first bars that we ever played, where kids started showing up singing every word every song, were right here in Texas where I grew up. So as soon as we get across that state line, whether we're you know, in El Paso, Houston, Amarillo, doesn't matter. I know my body and my spirit can feel when I'm in Texas and that I'm home and have a little more pep in my step and I always look forward to it!
What does it mean to be an ACM Awards winner?
Oh gosh, one of the biggest honors I've had the pleasure of receiving in my short country music career. Watching the ACM’s growing up and getting to be on the television show one day and perform and win an award is something that I still hold near and dear to my heart. One of my favorite memories of my career and country music so far. I think it'd be a hard one to beat.
In 2023, a groundbreaking ACM Lifting Lives LIVE concert unfolded with HARDY, Jason Aldean, Lainey Wilson, ERNEST and Bailey Zimmerman captivating a sold-out crowd on the verdant grounds of Topgolf The Colony. The event stands as the organization's most triumphant fundraising endeavor yet.
The upcoming 59th ACM Awards will also return to North Texas for its second consecutive year, following its successful sold-out debut in 2023. Last year's ACM Awards made history as the inaugural awards show held in Frisco.
"All the proceeds benefit the incredible work that ACM lifting lives does to support the country music community and improve lives through the power of music," McCollum said. "Cannot wait to bring the party back home to Texas and we'll see you all there."
