Plano to Spray after Mosquitoes Test Positive for West Nile

For the fourth time this year, the City of Plano discovered a mosquito pool that tested positive for the West Nile Virus. The mosquito trap was located near Jupiter Road and Park Boulevard.

For the fourth time this year, the City of Plano discovered a mosquito pool that tested positive for the West Nile Virus. The mosquito trap was located near Jupiter Road and Park Boulevard. City crews will be spraying the area Wednesday evening starting at 10:00 P.M. There have been no reported human cases of West Nile Virus in Plano.

The City’s Environmental Health Department urges citizens to stay inside during the spraying, along with any pets or animals. They’re also urging the common prevention practice of the 4 D’s:

Drain standing water.

Use repellent with Deet during outdoor activities.

Dress appropriately.

Use extra caution at dawn and dusk.
