The Coventry Reserve is a nonprofit serving Collin County and the surrounding area. For over 10 years, Coventry has provided a safe, cheerful day program designed for men and women with special needs once they age out of public school at 21. Coventry’s program provides essential structure through repetition while maintaining interest through variety. This much needed resource is a safe and fun place to go each day that i filled with purposeful activities – all among friends!

The core activities of the day center around 3 rotations of approximately one hour each in the Creative Skill and Brain Building Stations. In the Brain Building center, the program utilizes therapeutic activities and cognitive, vestibular and sensory integration tools. In the Creative Skills area, participants learn to create and hand glaze unique pottery from slab clay. The pottery is sold and proceeds directly support the operating needs. Additionally, supplemental classes of horticulture and art are offered along with daily light exercise and a group teaching/discussion time that opens horizons through special guests sharing, as well as sign language, drama and other topics.

Coventry’s volunteer opportunities span from Program Volunteers who work directly with our participants to Product Volunteers who clean the “green ware” pottery before it is fired in the kiln. Additionally, we offer opportunities to on facility projects or Group Work Days each spring/fall.

Coventry respects, challenges and supports adults with special needs through creative therapeutic programs in a Christ-centered environment.
