CASA of Collin County kicked off its campaign leading to its 16th Annual Voice for Children Gala, “There’s No Place Like Home” to be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016.

With Mercedes Benz of Plano as the title sponsor for the 10th consecutive year, the pre-celebration took place at the company’s new home on Dallas Parkway.

The event served as an opportunity for CASA of Collin County to present the details of their upcoming gala, while also giving Mercedes-Benz of Plano a chance to showcase their new facility, which boasts soaring ceilings, clean lines, and of course, the latest Mercedes Benz automobiles.

While guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, they admired fashions by designer Parker from Neiman Marcus Willow Bend. Among the guests in attendance at the elegant cocktail was Mercedes-Benz of Plano General Manager Kim Patterson, Marketing Director Ashley Simpson and CASA of Collin County Walter Mannari, pictured above.

This was just the start of a number of events the Mercedes-Benz management team has been and will be hosting as they present this new venue. In fact, the Business After Hours networking event, organized monthly by the Plano Chamber of Commerce, was recently also hosted at Mercedes-Benz of Plano. 16th Annual Voice for Children Gala

“There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home…” The magic words that Dorothy whispered are a fitting theme for the 16th Annual Voice for Children Gala, “There’s No Place Like Home” to be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the beautiful InterContinental Hotel Dallas. Follow the yellow brick road to the magical Land of Oz for a memorable and elegant evening benefiting CASA of Collin County, an organization that provides advocacy services for hundreds of abused and neglected children removed from unsafe homes in Collin County.

Arrive early and try your luck in the casino or shop for unique treasures during the silent auction. You won’t want to miss the excitement as guests celebrate the beauty of the Land of Oz, while enjoying fine dining, live music and an exciting live auction. Along with highlighting the life changing work at CASA, the inspirational message will show how your support changes young lives for the better. Finally, end the evening with a little late-night fun out on the dance floor or revisit the casino for another chance to try your luck. Please consider playing a special role in the 2016 Voice for Children Gala as one of the Gala Sponsors.

CASA of Collin County

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Collin County was incorporated in 1991 to provide trained community volunteers to advocate in the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in the court system.

Today, CASA of Collin County serves as Guardian ad Litem for all children in foster care under jurisdiction of the Collin County District Courts.

The more than 205 volunteers donated in excess of 26,000 hours of volunteer time in 2009, each focusing on the foster child’s best interest through advocacy to ensure they receive the services, treatment and a safe temporary placement in the search for a safe and loving “forever home.” These child advocates are well trained and sworn in as guardian ad litem by the District Court Judge. As they advocate for each child they serve, they are given constant supervision, support and guidance by professional staff as well as training in child development, communications and cultural competency skills.

The strength of the CASA program lies in providing care and support on a one-to-one basis throughout the court process, allowing the child and volunteer to develop a trusting, nurturing relationship.

Nationwide, the CASA program has evolved into one of the largest volunteer organizations in the country with more than 1090 programs in operation, at least one in every state. CASA of Collin County is part of National CASA and Texas CASA, and nationwide there are more than 70,900 CASA Advocates that served 70,900 children in 2009.

CASA of Collin County has 11 staff members and a budget of close to $1 Million.
