Plano Hires Peter Braster as New Special Projects Director

The City of Plano has hired a new Director of Special Projects to replace Phyllis Jarrell, who is retiring in April. Peter Braster, Senior Development Manager for the City of Carrollton, will join the City on November 30 .

The City of Plano has hired a new Director of Special Projects to replace Phyllis Jarrell, who is retiring in April. Peter Braster, Senior Development Manager for the City of Carrollton, will join the City on November 30. Peter will be working with Jarrell to manage special projects and downtown development. He will assume her position as Director of Special Projects upon her retirement.

Peter has been with the City of Carrollton for 9 years managing downtown and transit-oriented development. Prior to coming to Carrollton, Peter worked 6 years in several capacities with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and 7 years for private engineering consulting firms. Peter holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York. He is active in several professional organizations, including the Urban Land Institute, International Economic Development Council and the Texas Downtown Association.

Peter has the experience and skills required to ensure Plano’s high priority economic development projects are properly and expeditiously managed and that downtown reinvestment and revitalization continue.
