As part of its $100,000 pledge to the Academy Programs of Plano, the Plano Rotary Club presented $20,000 to the Plano ISD Education Foundation. The funding benefits the Plano ISD Health Sciences Academy, an academic program of choice housed at Williams High School and Plano East Senior High School which prepares students for the demands of a four-year university, pre-med program or healthcare career certification.

As a civic and service club, Plano Rotary forged a new donor profile within the school community and, with its bronze level sponsorship, set a new precedent of generosity and involvement for citizens and business leaders. “The Plano Rotary Club is pleased to support the Health Sciences Academy and its innovative focus on healthcare careers for students through this donation,” said Plano Rotary Club President Kelly Palmer. “Additionally, we’re pleased to support initiatives that further empower teachers to drive creativity and innovation in their classrooms as well as other programs that help under-served communities. What better place to start tackling these issues than in our own backyard and with the support of our very giving employee volunteers.”

“Our partnership with Plano Rotary Club is essential to achieve academic excellence and prepare our students for a bright future,” said Plano ISD Education Foundation Executive Director Jeanine Alpert.
