“A veteran should never feel forgotten.” Is one of the core values of Operation Once in a Lifetime a Dallas based nonprofit created to make the dreams of U.S. soldiers come true.

Last Friday December 11, Operation Once in a Lifetime teamed up with Stream, a leading direct selling company and provider of essential services to give a group of (not) forgotten veterans a special Christmas lunch hosted at Texas Roadhouse in The Colony.

More than 50 homeless and less fortunate military veterans, enjoyed a feast that included steaks, ribs, burgers and more, free of charge.

During the afternoon, one homeless veteran was spotted wandering around on his own. When asked how everything was and if he needed any help, he said “no, just admiring this place, I have never been to a Texas Roadhouse or anything this fancy before.”

A hot meal in a casual restaurant is something many of us take for granted everyday, it’s important to remember that not everyone is as privileged. This holiday season why not choose to give to one of the many deserving nonprofits in our local area?
