What could be more indulgent and delicious than French Toast? Over-Night French Toast Casserole Bake! During baking, the brown sugar, syrup, and butter form a delicious hot syrup that soaks into the bread—heavenly!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼–½ cup dark Karo syrup
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 loaf French bread, sliced thick
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 6 eggs
  • pinch of ground nutmeg

Makes 6–8 servings.

Recipe

  1. Melt together the brown sugar, syrup, and butter. Pour into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Place the loaf of sliced bread over the brown sugar mixture.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the milk, eggs, and nutmeg. Pour over the bread, cover, and refrigerate to soak overnight.
  3. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake the casserole, uncovered, for 45 minutes. Remove and serve immediately.
