Free Concerts by the Creek in Allen

Whether it’s family night or date night, the return of Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm’s popular, free outdoor music series, Concerts by the Creek, is sure to bring the community together! The spring series kicks off Saturday, April 2 at 7 p.m.

Whether it’s family night or date night, the return of Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm’s popular, free outdoor music series, Concerts by the Creek, is sure to bring the community together! The spring series kicks off Saturday, April 2 at 7 p.m. with fan favorite, The Jolie Holliday Band.

In conjunction with the concert season, the first Saturday of each month is “Music Makes a Difference.”  On that Saturday, a designated charity will attend the concert to bring awareness to its cause and raise funds. The featured charity will also receive a $200 donation from Watters Creek. The Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary is the first “Music Makes a Difference” charity on April 2.

On Friday, July 1 from 7–9 p.m. come celebrate America’s Independence Day with a Patriotic Salute featuring the Allen Philharmonic Winds. The musicians will perform a lively mixture of marches and classic Americana melodies. The “Music Makes a Difference” honoree is Heroes on the Water.

“We are so pleased to kick off the 2016 Concerts by the Creek spring series with Jolie Holliday. She opened our 2015 series and was so fun and energetic! Everyone had a great time and requested her again for this year,” said Debra Martinez, marketing director for Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm. “We’re also very happy to welcome The Heard Museum as our ‘Music Makes a Difference’ beneficiary. I want to encourage everyone to come out, learn about their wonderful programs, and enjoy the live music on the Green.”

Concert Tips and Guidelines:
Blankets are allowed for comfortable seating. All other outdoor chairs must sit to the side or back of the lawn so as not to block the view of another guest. Due to restaurant support of this event, coolers
with outside food/beverage are not permitted on the Green. You are welcome to bring to-go orders from the Watters Creek restaurants. Alcohol is not permitted. Animals are not allowed on the green. We suggest you arrive 15 minutes prior to the performance. Schedule is subject to change.

In the event of inclement weather, outdoor events will be cancelled or rescheduled. A determination of weather-altered plans will be made by 3 p.m. on the day of the concert.
