Love being in the spotlight, have a great voice or a group of friends looking to enter a  unique contest? Enter a video of yourself or a group singing The National Anthem for a chance to sing LIVE at the race event! Keep the video under three minutes. Only one entry per group or individual, and remember it’s not a guarantee your video submission will make it. Email video entries and contact info to Rebecca Baker via email at [email protected] by Saturday, April 30. The winner(s) will be contacted via email by May 5.

Don’t forget to pick up a rockin’ race shirt and finisher medal, too; these are given to every racer and are proof you made it to the excitement that is Rock The Block! If you’re more serious and are aiming for top placement in one of the award categories, you can look forward to one from aai Trophies and Awards. A list of awards that will be given are below.

The event’s food and drinks will be free thanks to the restaurants who are donating. Bagels from Panera Bread, coffee from Norma’s Cafe, pizza and cinnamon rolls from CiCi’s Pizza, plus fresh fruit, water, and granola bars supplied by Kroger. Mike Doocy, FOX4 sports anchor, is the Race Emcee and DJP Creative from Allen, Texas is super fun and will be entertaining on the amphitheater main stage. Band to be determined soon (updates to come)!

Jogging strollers and four-legged fur pups are allowed; the event organizers just ask you to line up at the back of the crowd. If you’re concerned with time, it’s chip timing anyways, so where you’re located in “line” doesn’t make a difference. The event takes place rain or shine, unless otherwise indicated. No refunds.

Early registration is through May 17, but go ahead and get your tickets and race packets now! Get an extra $5 off the 5K or 10K using discount code 5OFFRTB and code 5OFFFUN  for the Fun Run, only available online.
