At Big J’s FitCon, we met up with Mike “Titan” O’Hearn, a four-time Mr. Natural Universe title holder, four-time California Powerlifting Champion, four-time Best Lifter, two-time California Judo Champion and and seven-time Fitness Model of the Year. He’s the founder of PowerBodyBuilding, a two-time Iron Warrior in the Decathlon of Strength, a 2013 Bodybuilding Hall of Fame Inductee, and a 2014 Masters Hall of Fame Martial Arts Inductee. He has been on over 500 magazine covers and appeared as the gladiator “Titan” on the 2008 revival of American Gladiators.

Where are you from?
California

How long have you been doing this?
36 years

What inspired you to go into bodybuilding?
My brothers and sisters all did it and my dad was a bodybuilder. I started competing at 13 and won Mr. Universe when I was 20.

Is your dad famous?
No, but I became famous for the family, so it worked out alright. [Smiles]

What are some challenges you face? Do you ever get burnt out?
No, I’m not that guy. It’s such a deep passion for me that I work out at 4 a.m. and have for 30 years. I’m that guy that annoys people. I don’t quit.

What does your workout routine look like?
It’s a simplified routine with basic compound movement with a couple of secondaries. That’s it, I’ve done it for 30 years, and I don’t change it up.

And your diet?
It’s clean year-round. My girl (Mona) keeps me on it.
