For those who wanted to gather on July 8th to pray over Dallas in the wake of last week’s horrific shooting,  St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano held a service of prayer.

“We will pray for peace and unity for our city and our nation.

We will remember those whose lives have been lost by weapons of violence and the families that have been left behind.

We will ask the Lord to open our hearts to the power of divine love that overcomes all fear. We will appeal to the power of God’s grace to help us put down weapons of harm and take up the weapon of life-giving prayer.

I will see you this evening as we gather to ask for the Lord’s strength and wisdom in our time of need.”

—Robert Hasley, Senior Pastor
