The 30th annual Hope’s Door Luncheon celebrates the anniversary of Hope’s Door while raising money and awareness about domestic abuse in our towns. Ferrin’s long-time friend Janet Dorsett, wife of NFL star Tony Dorsett, is the chair of the luncheon, along with honorary chair Florence Shapiro.

Specializing in both intervention and prevention, Hope’s Door helps people affected by intimate partner abuse and family violence, who often have nowhere to turn. Their services are free and confidential. They are there to provide refuge and assistance, helping to lift people up out of dangerous situations and rebuild in the wake of pain. According to their website, in 2015 alone, Hope’s Door answered 3,241 hotline calls, served 21,000 meals, provided 6,800 hours of counseling and provided emergency shelter to 375 women and children. Volunteers in North Texas contributed 18,000 hours of community service.

The luncheon will be a day celebrating freedom and Abi has designed never-before-seen new looks for the show.  “It’ll be a great day to come out, celebrate and support our sisters who need help in our neighborhood,” Abi said. She’s hoping for a large, enthusiastic turnout, and one of the draws is her new line of clothing, Little Abi, which will be formally launched at the event.
