Plano Police To Host Mental Health Resource Awareness Program

The Plano Police Department will hold its bi-annual Mental Health Resource Awareness Program (M-RAP) on May 21, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Designed to inform the community about local resources for individuals with mental health conditions and their supporters, this event welcomes all participants, though registration is necessary due to limited space.

During the program, attendees will gain insights into various aspects of mental health support. The Plano Police Department's Crisis Intervention Team will offer an overview of their role within the mental health system, along with essential safety tips and de-escalation techniques. 

Judge Duff will discuss the mental health commitment process, while Ms. Sneed from Lifepath Systems will outline the behavioral health services accessible to Collin County residents. Additionally, NAMI North Texas will address its advocacy, education and no-cost support services available to the community and organizations.
