Medical City Plano announced that its medical and surgical oncology nursing units have clinched the prestigious 2023 HCA Healthcare Unit of Distinction Award. Adding to the celebration, Medical City Plano's ICU Stepdown and Neuro Trauma ICU units received honorable mentions.
The Unit of Distinction, part of HCA Healthcare's annual Unit of Distinction Awards program, is achieved through measurable, exemplary performance in the strategic areas of advocacy and leadership, consistency in nursing practice and operations and leveraging scale to improve patient care.
This recognition is a testament to an organization's commitment to fostering nursing excellence across its diverse network of healthcare facilities.

The awards ceremony, held at HCA Healthcare's headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, showcased 199 nursing units recognized for outstanding performance across various specialized care areas, including critical care, emergency and surgical services.
