The town of Prosper invites residents to contribute to developing its 2024 Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan. This plan, which is scheduled for finalization in Dec. 2024, will guide the growth and enhancement of Prosper's park system.
“Parks and recreational programs are the heart of our community, bringing us together and connecting us with nature and wellness opportunities,” said a video uploaded by the town of Prosper Government on Facebook. “They help create the vision of how we play and prosper.”
The plan aims to steer the evolution of Prosper's park system, incorporating proposals for land acquisition, park expansion and a diverse range of recreational activities tailored to all age groups.
The update of the parks master plan includes a resident survey, accessible through the town website until May 19. “Your ideas will assist decision-making in parks and recreation areas for years to come,” reads the official website. Participants in the survey stand a chance to win gift cards through a random drawing, underscoring the town's appreciation for their input.
The initiative unfolds within a structured timeline, with Phase I focusing on inventory and needs assessment and Phase II dedicated to formulating the master plan.
