So where do we recommend you dine outdoors this fall?
Hickory
If you’re in the mood for burgers and BBQ, or rather, really good burgers and BBQ, then look no further than Hickory Plano by Iron Chef America winner Kent Rathbun. We love the vibe on the terrace at One2One. It’s spacious, relaxed and their chill-out music is just perfect. Meanwhile, as their tagline “one place for every taste” suggests, One2One really does have a great variety with something for everyone; from their Popcorn Shrimp voted Best Appetizer in Plano Profile’s Best Eats contest to the more unusual items such as Wild Boar Ribs and Kobe Meatloaf. Although if you’re relaxing on the terrace on a sunny fall day, one of their wood fired pizzas and a cold beer would be perfect. Where else?
If outdoor dining is your thing, a few other great options are Taverna Rossa and Patrizio’s. Taverna Rossa took third place for Best Patio in our Best Eats contest this year, while our readers voted Patrizio’s into second. Artin’s is another great spot for eating al fresco, as is Del Frisco’s Grille with their unique sunken patio, both at Shops at Legacy. Another favorite with a fantastic patio is Buffalo Bluez – if you haven’t tried their boneless buffalo wings you don’t know the joy you’re missing! Meanwhile, a great newcomer patio is Smoke; the food is great and the patio is rustic, chilled and supersized! And finally, although located in Far North Dallas, Spork’s expansive family and dog-friendly patio makes it worth the extra drive. Something else fun but further afield is the new Hula Hut in Little Elm, located on Lewisville Lake. This Tex-Mex has a really cool, casual vibe — not to mention waterfront and a sand patio!
