Every year, more than 4,500 children are reported as victims of abuse or neglect in Collin County. On Sunday, October 25 Captain America, Wonder Woman, a lion, a giraffe, Santa and Superman came out to participate in a ride to end child abuse, the 23rd annual Teddy Bear Bike Ride.
Of course accompanying Ironman, Hulk and a rainbow of different types of teddy bears were bikers from across the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Each paying $10 to participate, the bikers also decked out their bikes in as many teddies as they could carry — later donated to the children of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County.
The 23rd annual Teddy Bear Ride was sponsored by Harley Davidson Financial Services, who not only took part in the celebration, but who also donated $12,500 to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County.
The 2015 Teddy Bear Ride began at IKEA Dallas in Frisco and ended at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County… where hundreds of brand new plush teddies made their way into the arms of the children who come to the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County for help following an outcry of abuse.

Every year, more than 4,500 children are reported as victims of abuse or neglect in Collin County.
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County, a private 501 (c) 3 organization, provides safety, healing and justice for child victims of abuse.
Working collaboratively with law enforcement and Child Protective Services, the Center brings all services to abused children under one roof to minimize additional trauma to vulnerable children.
Highly trained forensic interviewers provide a child-friendly environment in which children can safely share their stories. The Center then offers therapy and support for children and their non-offending family members.
The Center is a place where healing begins. Abused and neglected children in our community may be served at the Children’s Advocacy Center for as long as they need help.
Children should not have to wait to heal, so there are no waiting lists and our services are offered free of charge.
