My Possibilities HIPster Golf Classic in Plano

Fore! Grab a group of your golf-loving friends and sign-up for the HIPster Golf Classic on Monday, August 29 held at two of Plano’s finest courses at Gleneagles Country Club.

The excitement kicks off at 7:30 a.m. near the clubhouse with breakfast, a live DJ and a performance by My Possibilities HIPster Cheer Squad. Hangout with the players or practice at the driving range until the optional 8:30 a.m. putting contest. Next, a HIPster will commence the tournament by singing the National Anthem around 8:45 a.m. just before Tee Time at 9 a.m. Registration is from 7:30–9 a.m., and weather permitting, it will be held outside.

My Possibilities is a Plano-based nonprofit with a a unique continuing education program for disabled Texans who have “aged out” of secondary education. They are a one-of-a-kind program in Texas! Participation in the HIPster Golf Classic helps make their program possible and the HIPsters—Hugely Important People (the term used for special needs adults)—are very grateful for the opportunities you provide.

After the games are over, lunch and an awards ceremony will be held back near the clubhouse. The day of fun in the sun will end around 2 p.m.

Registration is $200 per player or $700 per team. No additional credit card processing fees will be charged. Alternatively, you may mail your checks payable to My Possibilities. Player fees cover the costs associated with course play, giveaways and lunch. Therefore, these costs are not considered charitable donations for tax purposes.

Colbea Smith is a young professional who grew up in Plano and loves the community she will always consider “home”. She is a proud alumna of Texas State University – Go Bobcats! – who spent most of her days in school studying advertising and playing around at the San Marcos river. After she graduated, Colbea worked in global communications at Hewlett-Packard for over three years and then took some time off to adventure around the U.S. Colbea is a huge, self-proclaimed foodie who loves to explore and is always down to try new activities.
