Collin County opened applications for Parks & Open Space funds, offering a vital opportunity for non-profit organizations and municipalities. These funds, stemming from the 2023 Collin County Bond Program, aim to support land acquisition, trail development and park enhancements.

Applications for the parks and open space funds are now open. Interested parties can submit proposals until Monday, July 8, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. As detailed on the Collin County website, applicants can procure the necessary forms online or by contacting the Collin County Engineering Department directly at [email protected].

Following a thorough review by the Parks Foundation Advisory Board, funding recommendations will be submitted to the Commissioners Court for final approval in Oct. 2024. Upon approval, entities will enter into interlocal or funding agreements with Collin County, outlining project timelines and reimbursement procedures.

Since its establishment in 1999, the Collin County Project Funding Assistance Program facilitated numerous projects, including land acquisition, trail development and facility improvements. With the recent approval of a $20 million bond proposition for Parks and Open Space in 2023, Collin County aims to further enhance its recreational offerings and environmental conservation efforts.
