K12, an online education provider, recently launched its new Bullying Prevention Resource Hub for Texas families and educators to utilize.

The online resource hub provides various tools to aid in bullying prevention, as well as strategies for protecting mental health. Among the content users have access to includes informative videos, fact sheets, quizzes and resource guides, along with access to live and recorded web events — such as K12’s very own Bullying Prevention Webinar Series.

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, almost six million students in the U.S. report being bullied at school. Amidst this country-wide issue, K12 was inspired to create its anti-bullying initiative in an effort to provide support to students who need it.

“No student should ever be worried about going to school because they’re afraid of being bullied,” said Tony Bennett, president of schools at K12. “We work every day to help students change their future in an environment where they feel safe and respected. We are excited to extend that commitment to students everywhere through these new resources.”

In addition to its newly established resource hub, K12 also announced that it is teaming up with Rachel’s Challenge, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to creating positive school cultures through acts of kindness.

Through the partnership, K12 is hosting a new initiative called the Draw a Line Against Bullying Move-A-Thon, which takes place throughout the month of October. The Move-A-Thon asks people to show their commitment to bullying prevention by exercising and raising funds in support of Rachel’s Challenge and its numerous school-based programs.

“We are thrilled to be working with K12 to raise awareness of ways to prevent bullying and to empower students and school communities to lead with kindness,” said Kristi Krings, CEO of Rachel’s Challenge.
